Florida Entertainment Law, Nina-Dawne Williams, P.A.Nina-Dawne Williams, Esq. is an attorney in private practice in the Miami-Dade/Ft. Lauderdale metropolitan area of South Florida. A philanthropist and patroness of the arts, Ms. Williams has served as a Board member for many non-profit organizations including The Miami City Ballet. Ms. Williams worked diligently with veteran R&B super vocalists The Dells to create “Open Up My Heart”, an entity created to provide aide to terrorism victims in the wake of the 9/11 tragedies and to the families of our armed forces serving abroad in various areas of conflict. She is a member of the International Association of Entertainment Attorneys, The Black Entertainment and Sports Law Association, The New York Bar Association, The New York Bar Intellectual Property Section, The New York Bar, The Recording Academy, The Florida Bar and she presently serves as Chair-Elect to The Florida Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section of The Florida Bar ("EASL"). Ms. Williams is expanding her practice and recently qualified as a Solicitor-at-Law, competent to practice in the courts of England, Wales, Canada and the British West Indies. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Attorney Williams enjoys membership in The Miami Council of International Visitors, is an avid art collector and world traveler.

Nina-Dawne Williams, Esq. was bestowed the honor of the title of Dame of St. Nicholas in the Melkite Rite of the Eastern Catholic Church. She was also named a Noble Benefactress of The Church of St. Basil the Great for her charitable work. Her most recent appointment is General Counsel to The Holy Land GospelFest. This international event envisioned by Holy Land GospelFest CEO Mitch Chupak will take place in Jerusalem in Spring 2009. The GospelFest will bring together inspirational and Gospel music singers and artists to share this amazing African American genre and cultural experience with those who live in the Holy Land.

Ms. Williams counts as her mentors her mother, Nina J. Williams, Esq., Elliot Zimmerman, Esq. and her law school professor Spencer Harry Boyer, Esq. who taught her Entertainment Law at Howard University.
 
  In Memoriam Johnnie Carter 573 Reads 
AnnouncementIt is with great sorrow that I must inform you that two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Johnnie Carter of The Mighty, Mighty Dells passed away this morning due to complications from lung cancer. Carter was an original member of The Flamingos, an early Doo Wop group and joined The Dells in 1952. His unmistakable falsetto tenor was the counterpoint to lead baritone Marvin Junior, who is known for sustaining long notes and emotional delivery.

  Miami Attorney Hosts African Broadcasters 1854 Reads 
NewsMiami Entertainment Attorney Nina-Dawne Williams hosted a luncheon to welcome 14 radio broadcasters from Africa. The group represented 13 nations on the Continent and was sponsored by the United States Department of State through the Miami Council of International Visitors.
